Afro House 2020 Playlist

 

Afro House is a sub-genre of house music that came from South Africa. A blend of Kwaito, tribal, deep and soulful house music, although it has its own unique sound. As many of you will know UM is all about bringing you the best new deeper house music, producers and DJs every week and I wanted to share my Afro House 2020 Playlist right here.

 

Afro House is one of our most popular and well-loved sections on many retail sites and continues to grow at a rapid pace across the world alongside other emerging genres with strong South African roots. Labels including Nulu, Rise, Union, MoBlack and Vega Records have become the go-to names with producers such as Louie Vega, Doug Gomez, Manoo, DJ Angelo, Pablo Fierro, Black Coffee, Da Capo, Atjazz, Kususa, Osunlade, Ralf GUM and more.

The Best Deep House Tracks of 2019

 

It’s been a massive year for tunes, and a very full year of mixes from me, with the UM series wrapping up the year on UM323 in between now and New Years and reaching Episode 53 on UM’s High 5ives. Not forgetting the occasional Sunday Session and the hugely popular UM Guest Mix Series all offering you the listener the very best in deep house and underground house music mixes throughout 2019.

 

But all things come to an end, right? Well, fear not, the Best of UM2019 mixes are in the pipeline, and for the first time this year I thought I’d put them all into a Spotify Playlist for everyone to enjoy and relive.

 

Who’s the most played of UM2019 then?

 

Anyone that follows the mix shows and High 5ives will expect to see plenty of the usual suspects and you wouldn’t be disappointed. The playlist has both more club orientated tracks and the moodier, morse stuff I love!

 

Sumsuch and his Colour & Pitch label feature plenty, as does Moiss, Salted Music (Miguel Migs’ label) along with the likes of Tibor Dragan, Mauro B, Third Floor Tiger, Evren Furtuna who all really shone this year for me. Labels like Defected, Beef, Oh! Records Stockholm, Oh So Coy, Ready Mix and more all get a nod too.

 

Plenty to enjoy, debate and look forward to with the mixes of these tracks on December 25 and 31 - stay tuned!
