Kevin Yost needs little introduction to most deep house fans - his discography since his debut back in the late 90's has featured in many a DJ's record crate all around the world and his signature blend of jazz influences and house have long been a favourite of mine and yours I'm sure. His bond with iRecords is also something virtually unique these days as producers seek maximum exposure in the digital age. Kevin's had over 70 vinyl releases and yet remains one of the quiet men of house. It would be easy to imagine after such a career keeping it fresh would be difficult but in a world of pre-programmed sets and sample packs it’s refreshing to know one of the great names of house is continuing to push the frontiers with a live and improvised project. Back in 2013 Kevin was kind enough to take time out to speak to the old UM blog and share this recording with us too.
