Last Night a DJ Saved My Life

 

Little Louie Vega is of course one half of Masters At Work and a hugely respected DJ, producer, remixer, person in his own right across the world of music. His personality shines through, his passion obvious and his discography enviable.

 

He began playing block parties in his local Bronx are of NYC, his first residency was at the evil's Nest, in the Bronx, and later he moved to heartthrob (the old Funhouse), Roseland, Studio 54 and the Palladium in Manhattan. Throughout the 1990’s Vega played the most influential nightclubs for house music, The Sound Factory Bar at the Underground Network Parties with promoters Don Welch and Barbara Tucker, it’s during this time, the production team Masters at Work began a as remixing team which consisted of young producers "Little Louie" Vega and partner Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez.

 

Vega and Gonzalez have released an incredible amount of 12" productions, mostly on their own MAW label and have remixed the likes of Jamiroquai, Madonna, and Michael Jackson, among tracks by dozens of other artists. As Nuyorican Soul, the two worked with such jazz legends as Tito Puente and George Benson for a self-titled album.
