Pagan Records | Label Profile

Pagan UK and Pagan America come to think of it, were huge labels, despite so little being out there on the label these days - the downside of being pre-internet everything and anything. I first discovered Pagan in Flying Records in London and was hooked.

House label from London, UK. May appear as Pagan United Kingdom, American branch is Pagan America.

One of the pioneering British house labels that moved between deep house, tech house, funky progressive and deep techno. Pagen brought artists like Si Brad (Salt City Orchestra), Presence (Charles Webster), Terry Francis and House Of 909 to wider attention alongside names including Shara Nelson, Wulf-N-Bear / Urban Farmers, Attaboy, Housey Doingz. This label was setup and run by Richard Breedan who ran Tribal in the UK (another superb labels of the time) as a label manager for EMI between 1994-1996. He's a true unsung hero of the underground house.
