TimAdeep is a South African producer and DJ and as many will know a key part of the Godfathers of Deep House SA family. He had releases on labels including LW Recordings, Soul Tribe Family, Jones Family and is known for his blend of nostalgic house finery.
The love of house music has always been there from an early age I was fascinated by music. Growing up around people who also loved house music played a huge part in cementing the love of house music I had, hearing deep house music playing from a car with fitted sub-woofers gave me joy I couldn’t explain as a child to this day house music play a big role in my life, but it wasn’t until the year 2015 when I started producing, one of my cousins introduces me to Fruity Loops Studio, that’s when my career began.
There were these 2 local brothers in my hood, one was a DJ & the other was a music lover, they’d jam to the likes of “Shena – Let The Beat Hit’ Em [Original 12” Mix]”, “Presence - Better Day (Bookworm Dub Mix)”, “Crustation - Flame (Mood II Swing Vocal Mix)” & More, neither did I know these master pieces were coming from a compilation by the Big Dawg AKA DJ Fresh, the album was called Fresh House Flava 1, adding on those who expanded my love for house music were DJ Ganyani, Glen Lewis, Vinny Da Vince, DJ Christos, DJ Cleo, Oskido, Revolution, & two late favourite djs of all times Khabzela & Iggy Smallz emerged to my eyes & ears with their powerful compilations & music crafts. The labels that kept on bringing more music to my ears were Soul Candi Records, House Afrika Records, Sheer Music & Kalawa Jazmee Records.
I specialize in producing Nostalgic Deep House Music & also Disc Jockeying.
It’s been a great opportunity & I am most fortunate having to serve good music movement as we all know The Godfathers of deep house are a leading deep house record label in South Africa and they are international with a Radio which is presence in 154 countries around the world & also interact with some of amazing great music producers in the movement, I’ve learned so much in this movement & I still am. It truly is every house producer and DJ’s dream to become part of the movement.
I would say a producer, on the basis of the time I spend producing compared to that of playing a set. I usually produce on a daily basis and play sets for expanding my skills, doing my Define Tempo Podtapes show & also gigs.
To understand that we need to understand South African people and their culture, South African people love rhythm, they like to move when happy even when sad, deep house music provides pleasing sounds with rhythm that make people feel happy and free to express themselves
South African people found peace, love & unity through the existence of deep house ever since it touched the land & has been expanding its growth with the best music producers & musicians on the underground & prominent side, we celebrate it like it originated here whereas it’s an international sub-genre, we walk it & we talk it on a daily basis, it connects us & lets us express ourselves, I believe that’s why it still stand with pride in South Africa.
I think it’s about the inspiration they’re getting from both underground artists & prominent artists, the motivation contributes to the growth & for one to sharpens their skills.
The amazing trick of it all I’ve learnt is to respect the process, rushing to reach the end of the line is not the solution, it took me a while to accept that. So to my fellow upcoming artists please have a passion & set your heart to it, it’ll make sense in the long run not all doors will understand your music design, the tree of subgenres keeps expanding like the big bang, find your sound & your best way to select & grow with it, it’ll be your signature for the rest of your life, keep on experimenting you’ll attract the right folks, avoid making excuses, procrastinating, comparisons, taking uninformed advices to heart, perfectionism, your need for praise because music is bigger than us.
I take my track selection seriously & I’d even spend 30 minutes getting right songs to be in perfect sequence, monitoring my mixing & checking for songs that will go hand in hand & making sure they are not corrupted that they’d ruin my set.

It does a lot, most of us music producers depend on the little that we make from our music to get by, with the illegal music sharing as it is we a basically not making any thing if the is no change most of us will have to find other way to support our families and ourselves which might mean quitting music just to make ends meet.
I usually don’t plan or wait for inspiration to hit me to start working, I just work on & the inspiration joins me on the way.
